Astera's rollicking semi-communal dining experience begins promptly at the given reservation time.
Our tasting menu experience lasts about 2 hours.
RESERVATION RELEASES
Reservations are released on the first of each month for the following month.
PRICING
We add a 20% service charge to the final bill. This helps us maintain living wages as well as health insurance. All of this goes to our staff.
LATE POLICY
Tardiness in excess of 20 minutes may be subject to a cancellation of your booking. We will make our best effort to accommodate unforeseen delays, but our style of service limits our ability to accommodate late arrivals We appreciate your understanding and timeliness. We do not provide refunds or rescheduling for late cancellations past the 20 minute window.
ALLERGIES and DIETARY RESTRICTIONS
For Special Events like New Year’s Eve, and other pre-paid, ticketed events, we are unable to offe
substitutions or special menus for dietary allergies or intolerances.
We can accommodate nut-free, gluten-free, soy-free and mushroom-free requests. Please note that our menus are completely free of all animal products. We offer a special gluten-free menu. We can omit nuts and mushrooms but the dish may change substantially or be skipped.
We are not able to offer allium-free, oil-free, salt-free, grain-free, and sugar-free menus. We are not able to exclude specific ingredients from our menu besides nuts, mushrooms, and gluten.
Guests with highly restrictive diets may not receive a substitute for all dishes, as our menu already requires an enormous amount of effort to prepare.
Dietary restrictions not disclosed 48 hours prior to the start of service will not be accommodated. You will be given the opportunity to disclose dietary restrictions during the reservation process or you can email hello@asterapdx.com to inform us in detail.
PARKING
While street parking is available, we highly suggest walking, biking, public transportation, or a taxi to our location, as parking is challenging in the evening, especially on weekends.
CHILDREN DINING AT ASTERA
We discourage young children from dining as the environment is very intimate. Many diners are celebrating special occasions and we would love to limit distractions that may detract from their experience.
CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING & TRANSFERS
Special Events like New Year’s Eve which are sold as prepaid ticketed events are not refundable and not able to be rescheduled. Tickets can be transferred to another party at any time.
Any cancellation or rescheduling requests of regular reservations within 48 hours of the reservation will not be accepted and your credit card hold (or ticket) will be charged fully. We charge $110 per person/seat you reserved. Reservations can be transferred to another party any time. Any cancellation or rescheduling requests made before the 48 hour limit or any transfer requests can be made at hello@asterapdx.com.
Unfortunately no exceptions can be made to our policies. Staffing and preparation for our experience starts several days in advance, and these policies help to partially offset the loss of ingredients and labor that cannot be recouped so close to the reservation.
